What is Lessonoploy?
SVEF has created an open source Lesson Plan repository called Lessonopoly which is a free tool for teachers to share lesson plans, manage their classroom lesson schedule, and connect with other teachers. The core of Lessonopoly are lesson plans, created by and for educators like you.

Where do I sign in as a Lessonopoly member?
On the Lessonopoly home page on the left side of the screen you will find the box to sign in.

How do I get FREE newsletters and e-mail alerts?
When creating an account on the bottom of the page you will be given the option if you want to sign up to receive Lessonopoly email alerts and our newsletter.

I forgot my login information. What do I do?
On the Lessonopoly home page you can click on the Forgot my password under the sign in box. Once you enter your email address you will get an email that will give you a link to reset your password which is valid for one day only.

How do I change my e-mail address?
Once you are logged in, you can click on My Home under CLASSROOM on the left of the screen, then click on edit on the far right of the screen in the My Profile box. A window ‘Edit Profile’ will pop up on the screen. Choose the tab titled Contact to edit your email address.

When will I see my lesson plan online?
Once you enter the lesson plan into Lessonopoly your lesson plan should immediately be available to view online.

How can I review and rate lesson plans?
Click on the lesson plan that you want to review and rate, go to the View tab, you will see a box that is labeled User Ratings on the right side of the screen When you Click on the box, you will get a new window that will allow you to rate the lesson plan. You can also add a comment by choosing the Comment tab.

How do I print a lesson plan?
When viewing the lesson plan you will see on the top right hand corner a button that is labeled Print. This will bring up another window with the document in a printer friendly format that can be printed by clicking on the PRINT button on the top right corner of the screen

How does the Lesson plan search feature work?
Click on Search under LESSON PLANS on the left of the screen. You will be directed to a new window titled Lesson Plan Search. You can search by typing the subject, grade, keywords (of the title) or author You can also narrow down your search by choosing the Subject and/or Grade Level from the lists provided under each.

How do I customize and save a lesson plan?
When viewing the lesson plan you will find on the top right hand corner of the page a button labeled Edit. Click on this link to go to the Edit window. You can pick the tab you want to edit: Basic Information, Standards & Links, Procedures , Assessment & Notes. When done with editing, choose the Submit button on the right of the screen to save your changes.

How do I add comments to a lesson plan?
When viewing the lesson plan choose the Comments tab. In this tab, you can type and save your comment

How do I provide Feedback ?
Click on the link Feedback at the bottom of the screen. A new window titled Share Feedback will pop up on the screen. You can send your feedback, good or bad, to the Lessonopoly Team.

What is my profile?
It is a user profile that contains all your contact information, schooling, and Personal information.

How do I view my profile?
From the Home page, under CLASSROOM, choose My Home. On the My Home screen, My Profile section is to the right of the screen. Click on View. The MY Profile window will show your current profile.

How do I edit my profile?
You can edit your profile either from the MY Home screen or from the My Profile screen. From My Home screen, click on Edit on the right of the screen in the MY Profile section. From My Profile screen, click on the Edit Profile button on the right of the screen.

How do I open up my Planner?
After you log in, click on My Planner from the list under CLASSROOM on the left hand side of your screen.

What is the benefit of My Planner?
My Planner allows a teacher to plan their lessons in advance. A teacher can plan the lessons to be taught using Lessonopoly database for a day, week or month in advance. They can change the view on the screen by choosing Daily, Weekly or Monthly from the top right corner under “Change View”.

Can I access list of lesson plans while I am in My Planner window?
Yes, when you are in the My Planner window, click on Monthly view. Once in the Monthly view window, the user can search for a lesson plan by typing the keywords in the Search Lesson Plan box.

How do I add lesson plans to My Planner?
You can add lesson plans by going to My Library, select the lesson plans that you want to add to the Planner, click on Planner icon right above the list of lesson plans, type in the date or select the date from the calendar icon, click on Add. The lesson plan (s) will be added to your Planner for that date. You can also add lessons to your planner by going to the My Planner window and dragging the lesson with your mouse to the appropriate date. Add window will pop up. You can give abrief description for the lesson plan, pick the date, time, repeat status, public or private and then click on the Add Event button.

Can I browse by lesson plan category in the My Planner window?
Yes, as long as you have created categories and there are lesson plans that are listed in those categories, you can browse by category.

How do I view the Lesson Plans that I have planned for a specific day?
In My Planner window, you can pick the specific date by clicking on the desired date from the calendar on the left of the screen.

How do I share lesson plans?
Once you log in to Lessonopoly, you can go to My Library, from the list of lesson plans, select the plans that you want to share. Then click on the Share icon. In the Share Lesson Plan window, type in the email addresses of people you want to share the plans with, type in a message and click on the Send Email button.

How can I Add lesson plans?
Once you log in you will find on the left side of your screen under LESSON PLANS a link labeled Submit. This link will redirect you to the page where you will be able to add your lesson plan.

How do I delete lesson plans?
You can go to My Library where you will have access to all your lesson plans. You can mark the lesson plans you would like to delete then press the delete button.

How to I Customize lesson plans?
When viewing a lesson plan you will find an edit button on the top of the page. This will allow you to customize the lesson plan. This option is only given if the lesson plan author allows you to make edits to the lesson plan.

How do I create categories/create folders to file my lesson plans?
Creating a Category is same as creating a folder. Under CLASSROOM on the left of the screen, click on My Library. Pick the tab labeled Categories. When you click on this tab, you will get a box labled Category. Type in the category you want to create and click on the Create button. You can create as many categories as you want to create your personal Lessonopoly filing system.

How do I categorize lesson plans?
Under CLASSROOM on the left of the screen, click on My Library. In My Library you will find all the lesson plans you added. You can mark the Lesson Plans you want to move to a specific Category that you have already created. Click on the button titled Move. You will get a pop up that will ask you to select a category. Selecting the category from the list will send your lesson to that specific folder.

How can I view entire Lesson Plan Library?
When searching just leave all the fields blank and click on the Search Library button. The screen will display all the lesson plans in Lessonopoly.

How do I add a lesson plan to my library?
If you click the Library button on the top right of the screen while viewing a lesson plan, it will be added to your library.

How can I add web links and references?
When entering the lesson plan, click on the tab titled Standards & Links and enter web links You can add references by clicking on the tab Assessment & Notes and typing the reference in the Additional Notes box.

How can I find lessons that correlate to my state standards?
At the bottom of the Lesson Plan Search screen (refer to How does the Lesson plan search feature work? ), you can select Limit to only lesson plans that address a California State Standard, to assure that all the lesson plans that you are viewing are meeting those standards.

What is Advance Search?
Clicking on the Advance Search button from My Library brings up the Lesson Plan Search window where the user can search by subject, grade level, keywords or author and by choosing to limit the search to include California State Standard.

From the Home page, choose My Home (listed under CLASSROOM on the left of the screen), the section under Lesson Plans shows all the Lesson Plans that you have uploaded to Lessonopoly.

You can email a copy of the lesson plan that you have published or are interested in. You can do this action by simply clicking on the link labeled Email when viewing a lesson plan.

From the Home page, choose My Home (listed under CLASSROOM on the left of the screen), the section under Updates shows all the new Lesson Plans added to Lessonopoly.

How do I create a Class?
From the Home page, choose My Home (listed under CLASSROOM on the left of the screen). On the My Home screen, click on Create Class in the My Classes section. In the Create Class screen, you can specify title of the class, provide a brief description, specify the category, and whether you want it to be a Private or public class. You can also give instructions for the class, attach images, specify the privacy and membership requests.
