BRIEF DESCRIPTION
 Students will be learning the butterfly life cycle. 
 
PROCEDURES
 
Goal(s):
 Students will learn about butterflies and how they come to life (life cycle).
 
Specific Objectives:
 Students will be able to sequence pictures of the life cycle of a buttefly.
 
Required Materials:
1. Powerpoint presentation
2. Life cycle worksheet.
 
Anticipatory Set (Lead-in):
 Ask students if they have ever seen a butterfly.  If some say no show them a picture of a butterfly.  
 
Lesson Plan Procedure:
1.  Show students the Powerpoint.
After you show the ppt to students.  Partner them up and give them the life cycle worksheet.  Have students tell each other the different stage of the cycle. Students will point to the pictures and words as they conversate with their partner about the life cycle.
Then, have students color the picture.
 
Closure (Reflect Anticipatory Set):
 Ask students to tell you one of the stages of the life cycle of butterfly?  As a class make a life cycle poster.  Enlarge the pictures from the worksheet.  Pass them out to the students.  Write the numbers 1-4 on the white board or poster with arrows.  Ask students to tell you what the first stage of the cycle is.  Then ask, can the student with the picture of the first stage come up and place the picture where it belong?  Do the same thing as you complete the poster life cycle.  Then, review the names of the stages of the life cycle.

 Students will color and match the pictures to the number of the sequence in which they happen.  
 
Assessment Based on Objectives:
